I actually have HYPO-thyroid… not hyper like I thought. So yes people it is the bad kind!
My Thyroid is not producing enough whatchamacallit to counter act the TSH in my system (not sure what it is). My TSH is 31.8 and should be 2.5. So I misunderstood that a high number meant high Thyroid… it is actually the opposite!
There’s no good kind. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are bad.
Your thyroid’s not producing enough thyroxine
TSH is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone - it stimulates your thyroid to create thyroxine. Your TSH is high because your T4 (thyroxine) is low.
It’s day 11 of my new dose of thyroxine and I have a feeling my body isn’t going to like this one :(
I wish there was a book that told me how to keep calm and happy and basically hide the fact I hate 99.99% of people when I’m adjusting to a new dose.
I’m up 5 pounds in one week. I look like a stuffed pig, and I can feel my thyroid gland swollen up. My family is unable to afford my thyroid medication, so this constant weight gain it just going to go on. On top of my low energy and other symptoms the weight gain is just making me miserable. If anyone knows anything that might help or just advice please message me.
My latest set of results came back, here’s what I got!
Calcium: 2.26 mmol/L (win!)
Pretty good all round so I’m pleased, but my endo wants to lower me down to 100mcg a day which worries me a little because obviously I have to be kept a little higher than normal, which I am. I’ve never been on a dose this low either and now that I’ve adjusted to 125mcg I feel ok on it the majority of the time.
When I was on 150mcg my oncologist said that was perfect, but I guess they’re seeing it from different perspectives. My Onc thinking “OH SHIT CANCER” and my Endo thinking “OH SHIT HER HEART”
Regardless I’ll try the dose until I get the results of my next blood test I’m due to have in 12 weeks, and if they suck or Im struggling I’ll hopefully be able to go back up to 125 and convince them that dose is a happy medium!
